    This copy is of the second edition, published under the title “new edition,” but in fact published immediately after the first, with publication continuing until 1869. Volume 1 was published last and contains a new history of French law and an updated chronological table. Our copy is complete with all the supplements published in 1887 and 1897. It is one of the most monumental texts of French law. Many entries occupy more than 100 pages; the one devoted to “Obligations” even extends over a volume of 1250 pages.
