    Comparable in scope to the “Jurisprudence générale” published by Dalloz, the Fuzier-Herman Repertory nevertheless differs in several respects. First, the contributors to the various entries are identified and are often among the most renowned. Initial authors include Bufnoir, Demantes, Labbé, Lyon-Caen, Batbie, Dareste, Naquet, Laurent, Eugène Pierre, and Hauriou. Subsequent volumes feature other major authors, both civil and administrative law specialists, and the later volumes notably include Georges Vedel and Cézar Bru. Second, the Fuzier-Herman Repertory was published considerably later than the Dalloz Jurisprudence générale, extending to 1936. It therefore examines the law of the critical period at the turn of the century, a feature lacking in the Jurisprudence générale. Finally, one of the salient features of the various entries is the meticulous bibliography, which often serves as an essential entry point into the subject. It is worth noting that the Répertoire opens in its first volume with a “bibliography” compiled under the direction of Paul Viollet, containing nearly 700 entries dedicated to listing all general and specialized French and foreign legal bibliographies—an unparalleled work in legal bibliography that remains a fundamental source even today.
