in-4, full period mottled blond calf, spine with 5 raised bands decorated, gilt title on a burgundy morocco board, boards framed with blind fillets, roll on the edges, red edges, vignettes, initials and tailpieces, (joint entirely split on one side, headcaps and endbands missing, corners bumped, some scuffing, non-penetrating wormholes, slight acidification of the paper, missing 2nd page of flyleaf), XXIV-484-50-122 p.-(19 ff.).
The main interest of this extremely rare custom lies in its author's intention to demonstrate the value of the Bassigny custom in comparison to that of Paris, which was too often used by default. To this end, he clarifies its obscure points, drawing particularly on related legal systems and parliamentary rulings to better highlight the specific nature of his custom. G. Meylan writes that “Laistre achieves his goal. He presents a Chaumont private law that is both intelligible and sensitive to the anticipated harmonization of the kingdom's customs.” Dupin, ref. 1221-4.
