    The “responses” constitute a series of studies on questions that sometimes originate from consultations conducted by the author; the interrogative form of the questions is not systematic. This is a fundamental and extremely rare collection, these texts providing an overview of the author's entire body of work. Within the limited scope of this commentary, we regret not being able to emphasize the exceptional clarity and intelligence of these various “responses,” which, in our opinion, far surpass in quality those of Coquille and even those of Dumoulin (for more detailed analyses of some of these works, see cat. MDD no. 10-025 (memorables), 12-050 (responses), 8-006 (custom of the city of Paris)).
