in-12, half green calf, gilt title on smooth spine decorated with blind tools, gilt fillets and friezes, speckled edges, (spine sunned, joints slightly marked, edges rubbed with small pieces of paper missing, heavy light dampstaining on the first 30 p. but without affecting the text), IV-294 p.
According to Barbier (p. 985), Q.-V. Tennesson is the author of this dictionary, the same author who also wrote a "Vocabulary of Municipalities and Administrative Bodies" (p. 1043). This work is a dictionary of nearly 70 entries corresponding to the principal terms of civil law. Its value lies in listing and analyzing the intermediate legal rules that constitute a transition between the old law and the civil code. While linguistically accessible, the dictionary offers substantial sections on certain themes, particularly those concerning Arbitrators, Lease Termination, Donations, Interest on Money, and Prescription. This extremely rare work appears only at the BNF (notice FRBNF31442734); none of the other libraries usually consulted have it (it is missing from Cujas, from all university libraries in France and abroad).
