    "This thesis is very interesting not only because it provides valuable, accurate, and comprehensive information on the duties and ethical obligations of notaries and the legal nature of notarial liability, but above all because it offers elements for reflection on a general theme, at least in French law: the influence of the profession on the liability of individuals. This influence is exerted not only in the assessment of their fault, which tends to be all the more severe when the defendants are specialized or even highly specialized professionals, but also in the mechanisms established—without necessarily being corporatist—at the professional level to guarantee the payment of compensation owed by its members.
