    7 vols. small octavo, full brown calfskin, gilt titles and volumes on garnet and green paper, smooth spines decorated with lace and gilt tools framed by double fillets, yellow edges, (spines slightly rubbed, headcaps sagging with some minor damage, spines split in vols. I and VI, some non-penetrating wormholes, some foxing).
    Certainly the best translation of the Institutes in the 18th century before that of Berthelot and Hulot in 1803. The last volume is a veritable historical treatise on Roman law. Latest edition.
