    The most important work, published here in its initial form as a thesis (it will be republished the same year in 2 volumes) by this intendant at the very beginning of the 18th century, who was probably one of the greatest figures of provincial administration under the Old Regime in its decline, and who did much for the development and emancipation of the city of Bordeaux.
