    "Granelle's work summarizes several projects undertaken within the framework of the Paris Urban Planning Workshop, supported by its urban database. Among the strengths of this study, I noted the following: 1. The emphasis placed on the problems of collecting statistical information, which has never been a focus of urban research, underestimates their importance and complexity. 2. The very detailed description of the evolution of Parisian land and real estate markets since 1960. 3. The emphasis placed on psychological variables (let us not forget Maurice Halbwachs's aptly cited observation that land prices are primarily a matter of opinion!) and on the socio-political environment of the neighborhood in explaining land prices (p. 118 et seq.). 4.
