This work compiles the texts of the principal codes, along with a supplement containing all the usual laws in alphabetical order by subject, as well as a dictionary of legal terms. Like all collections of texts, this work is useful in that it provides a snapshot of the state of the law at a specific point in time, and particularly so in that it contains all the imperial legislation and regulations, which, due to their repeal, are not found in subsequent collections.
