    7 vols. in-8, heterogeneous binding, half brown morocco and half black morocco for vol. VIII, gilt titles and volumes on spines with 5 raised bands decorated with blind-tooled fillets, (edges and corners rubbed with very slight paper losses, rare skin damage), fresh interior.
    G. began publishing a "Course of Procedure" in 1881, of which he released two volumes. Before beginning the publication of the third (out of the four planned), he decided to write a "Summary of Civil Procedure," the first edition of which appeared in 1885 (2 vols.), and simultaneously transform his course into a "Theoretical and Practical Treatise" on procedure. Nevertheless, the first two volumes reappeared unchanged from 1885 onward, bearing the original publication date (1882), and were followed by five more, whereas the author initially intended only four volumes. The last two are devoted to specialized matters, including discussions on the jurisprudence of the President of the Court, arbitration, and protective procedures. It is not necessary to recall the importance of this treatise which, under the direction of Cézar-Bru, had 3 successive editions until 1925 and then supplements which kept it up to date until 1938.
