    4 vols. in-8, half-calf in havana, gilt title on smooth spine richly decorated with lace, gilt fillets and fleurons, marbled edges, (cuts and corners very slightly rubbed, paper sometimes slightly acidified, rare foxing, vol. I: wormholes crossing about thirty pages, vol. III: very slight impact on the upper headcap), good overall condition, 596 / 507 / 515 / 672 p.
    This collection, along with Macarel's, constitutes the first compilation of decisions of the Council of State. Although it lacks substantial commentary on the decisions, this collection nonetheless represents a "quasi-doctrinal work," as Mr. Touzeil-Divina points out (La Doctrine publiciste, MDD, 2009, p. 54). Furthermore, "When the lawyer d'Auvilliers reports a similar decision of the Council of State (August 17, 1825, Boyer v. Minister of War, rapporteur Cormenin), he aptly draws a parallel with the words spoken by Cuvier in 1819 and quoted above, in which he likened the contentious jurisdiction of the Council of State to an arbitral jurisdiction (vol. 2, p. 443)."
