IV, V, XIII and XVII: joints split, vols. IV and XIV: very slight loss of leather at the headcap, vols.     A rare and complete quarto edition of this fundamental directory, published with the collaboration of the most celebrated jurists of the time: Berthelot, Boucher d'Argis, Corail de Sainte-Foi, Des Essarts, Henrion de Pansey, Lacretelle, Lanjuinais, and Merlin. The latter would later continue editing the directory, lending it his name after the Revolution. The most substantial articles are signed. The spirit of the encyclopedia undeniably pervades this major work.
