    This issue of the IFSA Notebooks constitutes the report presented by France to the International Congress of Administrative Sciences on regionalization. It was prepared in particular by Professor Gilli, P.-M. Gaudemet, and M. Bourjol. It offers several points of interest. The first is its historical dimension and the study of regionalization prior to 1972. The second is the inclusion, in an exceptionally comprehensive appendix, of a summary table of all the proposed regional structures implemented since the 19th century (from 1871 to the present day), each accompanied by a description of the legal framework of the regions considered. This work alone justifies the book's value.
