Denisart's principal work, "which opened the way so widely followed by modern jurists… This book, a truly monumental work, enjoyed a success that confirms its value…" (Larousse of the 19th century). It should be noted that this work is presented not in the form of a repertory of judgments, as one might expect, but as an alphabetical collection.
