“This is quite a remarkable work. It is a ‘thesis’ in the truest sense of the word,” our colleague Alfred Rieg emphasizes in his preface. “A thesis that could perhaps be stated as follows: in extra-contractual civil liability, unlawfulness is a concept that French law neglects, but which constitutes the basis for a number of its solutions and which must also lead to numerous reforms. (…) This book should be read and kept close at hand. It offers interesting insights into all the problems it addresses. The unusual terminology it sometimes employs is never impenetrable. While it contains few explicit references to foreign laws, it is nonetheless of great comparative interest, since it explores the place that the theories of unlawfulness and Aquilian relativity secretly occupy, and the place that they could occupy in France. Once again, a doctoral thesis has allowed a young French jurist to further his education and to reveal his talent.” His qualities were quickly recognized by the national jury, which admitted him to the Law Faculties. » (André Tunc, RIDC n° 2/1974, p. 428 et seq.).
