    This work is one of the very first commentaries on the provisions of the Civil Code relating to inheritance and was a great success with the public. The 5th edition presented here is considerably expanded compared to the earlier printings; it is also the last published during the author's lifetime. According to Dupin, it should be preferred to the previous editions. (Dupin no. 1416, Dramard no. 1387).
