    Charles Comte, son-in-law of Jean-Baptiste Say, adopted his father-in-law's industrialist and liberal ideas. He and Dunoyer founded the renowned liberal newspaper Le Censeur. This work is his major contribution, having a lasting influence on the French liberal school. In it, he notably defines the limits of the state's role in economic matters. Volume IV contains a lengthy and detailed analysis of the origin, nature, and consequences of slavery. Original Edition.
