Proudhon had written a nine-volume treatise on the rights of usufruct, use, habitation, and superficies. After his death, the updates were divided into two separate treatises; the one presented here contains the law of easements, the right of superficies, and all the rights held by the inhabitants of a commune over the commune's property (common grazing rights, firewood collection). In this respect, it is a worthy continuation of the same author's treatise on the public domain.
