    3 vols. in-16, full mottled fawn calf of the period, gilt titles and volumes on brown leather boards framed with gilt fillets and friezes, spine with 5 raised bands, compartments richly decorated with fleurons, friezes, framing fillets and gilt arabesques, roll on the edges, marbled edges, decorated initials, vignettes, headpieces and tailpieces, fine printed Ex-Libris in the name of "Sir Alex Ramsay of Balmain Bart.", (binding worn with scuffing and some leather losses, upper joint of vol. I split, a split in the leather of the spine of vol. III, bumped corners, damaged headcaps), interior fresh except for rare spots, 572 / 632 / 848 p.
    Although Dupin prefers the late 18th-century edition, this one is also of very good quality; the text is well printed and very conveniently laid out, and while it lacks some of the supplementary annotations found in the late 18th century, this is not what makes this work interesting or valuable. This edition contains ONLY the civil laws.
