    Despite what the title page might say about the expanded nature of the work, it must be noted that from one edition to the next (with the exception of those after the 7th) the work maintains a high degree of continuity. This is not a flaw, since it is clearly one of the most important treatises on Roman law of the 20th century and still one of the most widely used today.
