Under this title, we have Blondeau's updated version of Bouchel's old compendium, presented in the form of a dictionary in which certain themes are particularly developed. Of particular note is the entry on "College," which includes substantial extracts from the contentious writings of the University and the Cantor of Notre-Dame concerning the Church's authority to establish "small colleges" alongside the University, notably with a very complete exposition of the University's statutes and liberties. The entry on "Duel" is also very extensive and contains several royal decrees and edicts on the subject. There is also a fine text on the "temporal sword," including the famous "Discourse on the Temporal Sword for the Security of the Life and State of Kings," as well as substantial entries on the publication of legal acts, on sorcery, and on theaters.
