    (Dupin no. 1144). This work from the second half of the 18th century has a distinctly scientific character. Book I is a general theory of servitudes (real, personal, and mixed); Book II deals with servitudes in countries governed by written law, and how they are acquired; Book III considers the same question in customary law. The work concludes with a collection of laws relating to the subject. It should also be noted that the section on customary law meticulously cites the provisions of the customs studied.
