First, it contains a number of decisions that would later be excluded from this list (CE 1933 Verbanck; CE October 30, 1947 Barinstein; CE 1949 Chaveneau on secularism in education—one wonders why it was removed, given that it foreshadows the opinion on the Islamic headscarf—; CE 1955 Naliato; CE 1946 Garrigou). Second, it contains commentaries on the landmark public service decisions of 1955-1956, all imbued with the debate surrounding public service, which would disappear from subsequent editions.
