    Two years after writing a pamphlet on the workings of the Assize Court, Lacuisine resumed his analysis of the judicial system of the time. However, this work is far more technically rigorous and provides an excellent description of the procedure before the Assize Court, the author himself being president of the Dijon Assize Court. Of particular note are the insightful analyses of the deliberations, Lacuisine being well-positioned to understand their workings. (This is lacking in Berkeley).
