Dramard points out (no. 108) that F. did not manage to produce a complete treatise on the various courses on the Civil Code that he taught at the University of Douai. He nevertheless emphasizes that his dissertations are excellent and that they contain “the elements of a book of merit.” Indeed, an examination of the present text shows that we do have here the content of a course—moreover, a lively one, far removed from certain academic approaches to exegesis—which is also a testament to the teaching methods of the time. In addition to this course, six monographs previously published independently are included (on the forced circulation of banknotes, the conversion of registered securities into bearer securities, the creation of usufruct rights in bearer securities, etc.). Dramard no. 4028.
