ARNOULT
COLLECTION OF DECREES OF THE NATIONAL CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY
Édition :
    Dijon
Date :
    1792
6 vols. in-4, holding carton, (damp stain on vol. 2 and vol. 3), stamp of the Alain Taillade collection, full margin, fine copy exactly as issued.
A superb, groundbreaking edition of this collection of decisions from the National Constituent Assembly, which chronicles the period before the creation of the Bulletin des lois (Official Gazette). While not as comprehensive as the Beaudoin collection, which comprises 19 volumes, it is of major importance, making it an essential source for the study of revolutionary-era law. It is organized by subject into 19 major themes (constitution, legislative power, division of the kingdom, assignat, paper money, crown lands, etc.). Were it not for the dampstaining affecting two volumes, we would have the impression of holding the work exactly as it came off the press two centuries ago. A rare set. (The BNF collections do not contain all six volumes, and the Berkeley collection is missing...).
