This methodical text reasons equally well in terms of criminal procedure and criminology regarding the system of expert assessment (appointment, operation, control, remuneration), and then examines specific techniques (toxicology, accounting, blood alcohol levels) and "the repression of doping," the first study of the 1965 law on the control of doping practices (p. 336), with useful historical references (in the ancient Olympic Games, the removal of the spleen to increase speed). The documented doping cases are particularly interesting; see, for example, the West German team which, after its victory in the 1954 World Cup, suffered from "massive poisoning with jaundice" due to intravenous vitamin injections, or the start of the Luchon stage of the 1962 Tour de France where 20 riders fell ill, 9 abandoned, and 5 were eliminated.
