A rare copy of this magnificent study devoted to the legal action that could be brought by a person who felt insulted under Roman law. It should be noted that this actio injuriarum could be brought not only against verbal insults but also against "real" insults, that is, when a person was accused of exercising a right they did not possess. In this respect, the theory of actio injuriarum constitutes a kind of Roman legal counterpart to the modern theory of abuse of rights. A very fine text.
