Catastrophic events underscored the relevance of the theme chosen for the fourteenth biennial conference of the International Association of Urban Planning Law (AIDRU), held on September 20 and 21, 2024, at the Ecological University of Bucharest: urban planning law and climate change. In accordance with AIDRU's mission, this theme was addressed through a comparative approach. The book opens with an overview, outlining the limitations of positive urban planning law in the face of climate change, as well as the effects of procedures and public participation. It then takes a more forward-looking approach, analyzing the integration of climate policies into urban planning law, discussing the contribution of this law to climate change adaptation, and summarizing the lessons learned from national examples. General conclusions broaden the perspective. Following this general section are the various national reports. Catastrophics events have highlighted the urgency of the theme chosen for the fourteenth biennial conference of the International Association of Land Use Planning Law (AIDRU), held on September 20th and 21st, 2024, at the Ecological University of Bucharest: land use planning law and climate change. As usual for the AIDRU, the theme was approached from a comparative perspective. The book starts with the current situation, analyzing the limitations of current land use planning law in the face of climate change and the impact of procedures and participation. A more prospective approach follows, with reports on the integration of climate policies in land use planning law, the contribution of the latter to climate change adaptation and the lessons drawn from the national examples. General conclusions open the scope of reflection. The national reports follow this general section.
