The change in the political majority in France in 2012 resulted, under the constraints of treaties, in only limited changes to domestic competition law: a few ambitious but largely ineffective "social-liberal" measures; numerous revisions to provisions relating to restrictive practices, falling under both consumer and competition law, betraying a nostalgia for dirigisme, and moreover rather vague and poorly written.
