    Paris
Date :
    1811 - 1813
10 vols. in-8, full set in mottled fawn calfskin, gilt titles on burgundy paper, smooth spines richly decorated with fleurons, lace, friezes and double gilt underlining fillets, marbled edges, vol. IV partial uncut, (bounds worn, headcaps very damaged, especially vol. VII, corners bumped, some significant damp stains inside, some spots and foxing).
The first commentary on the Commercial Code, written concurrently with *La législation civile, commerciale et criminelle de la France* and nearly twenty years after the first edition. Locré particularly emphasizes the importance of the legislator's intent in debates and judgments. For the sake of simplicity for practitioners, Locré prefers in this edition to reduce the doctrinal section, making it more accessible so that the reader does not get lost in controversies quickly rendered obsolete by case law. Our copy is incomplete with the general index, although one is included at the end of each volume (a single index for volumes 1 and 2). Dupin, ref. 2156 for the 2nd ed.
