After publishing a first volume of "General Principles of Public International Law" in 1944, which was not followed by another, Charles Rousseau, as part of his teaching (see MDD, cat. 15-69 and 70), developed a new text which he subsequently published with Éditions du Recueil Sirey. This first edition of his treatise can even be considered the printed version of his earlier mimeographed notes. It has become rare.
