OBSERVATIONS ON THE LAW OF 14 VENTOSE YEAR VII, RELATING TO DOMAINS ENCLOSED BY THE OLD GOVERNMENT, BY A PROFESSOR OF LEGISLATION
Édition :
    Paris
Date :
    Year VIII
    in-8, fascic. br., (faded), IV-64 p.
This important text on the status of the public domain limits the validity of transfers or commitments of state-owned property to the date of the edict of 1566, revoking all those that occurred subsequently. It is a major step towards the imprescriptibility, not inalienability, of the public domain. This law, enacted under the Directory, was immediately confirmed by the Consulate. It should be noted that the anonymous author of the commentary advocates a forty-year prescriptive period. This text is missing from Berkeley.
